The Story of Star Wars

So what is Star Wars all about?

Star Wars has always been a story of good versus evil for example the Jedi versus the Sith or the Rebellion versus the Empire and the Republic versus the Separatists as well as focusing on conflicts between individual characters such as Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader or Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. These conflicts are used to explore the mysticism of one of Star Wars most popular plot devices which is the Force. The Jedi represent the light side and the Sith represent the dark side, Jedi only use the Force for knowledge and defence the Sith exploit it for using it as a means of attack and destruction.

The original trilogy of Star Wars told the story of Luke Skywalker learning about the Jedi Order, what the Force is and how to use it for good to fight against the Empire and it also told the story of Darth Vader's inner conflict about whether or not Anakin Skywalker still lives within him and how the Emperor's lies seduced him to the Dark Side.

The prequel trilogy focused primarily on Anakin Skywalker, the events that lead to him being turned to the Dark Side and the origins of the Galactic Empire. It also showed fans the Jedi Order at the height of it's existence when it was helping to battle the Separatists along with the Republic Clone Troopers.
